Nature-Inspired Distinctive Art

Do you long for quiet places and open spaces that offer solitude and healing year- around?

If so, you have come to the right place. I'm Wanda Ann and chances are if I am not in the studio, I'm out seeking quiet places and open spaces as I search for inspiration to make a connection between people and nature.

I create art to share ideas of solitude and isolated healing through the juxtaposed pockets of beauty that I find along my life journey.

The world is noisy, and the busyness of life threatens to swallow us up daily, but I have learned on my creative journey that the world offers us peace and healing through its beauty if we seek and reach out to it.

If you long for places and spaces that allow you to escape even when your time doesn't allow it then click over to my Artwork and look for tranquil fine art pieces that speak to you.

It all begins with a conversation... You know what you like and want to work with an artist that understands your uniqueness.

Together we can create work that is meaningful to you whether a special person, place, or animal.

Let's talk so you can share your vision, I will share mine, and together we will create that special one-of-a-kind piece.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these pieces photographs?

No! But photographs are sometimes used to inspire the composite composition along with sketches, and field studies.

The final composition is then created as an underpainting using a variety of media before beginning the encaustic painting process.

Are the landscapes and locations real places?

Each artwork is a created place that is inspired and created from elements of real places that I visit, hike, or happen upon in my life journey.

What is Encaustic? Is it a new technique?

Encaustic is a Greek word that means "to heat or burn-in" and is one of the oldest art forms known, dating back to the 5th Century B.C.

The material of encaustic consists of natural beeswax and damar resin, which is crystallized tree sap. Heat is used throughout the process to melt the beeswax, fusing the layers of wax and any other media.
