Do these works of art need framing?

My original encaustic mixed media works of art arrive ready to hang in a custom-made solid wood floating frame finished in a dark brown-black hue. The framed artwork is sealed for protection on the back, with information about the artwork's inspiration, my artist's statement, and signature. In addition, there is information regarding the care of the encaustic work.

My mixed media assemblage boxes also come ready to hang as the assemblage itself becomes the frame. These pieces are also sealed on the back and they come with information about the artwork.

The limited-edition prints are professionally printed with archival pigment ink on archival "Torchon" by Hahnemühle, a cellulose watercolor paper with a distinct textured surface. They arrive flat after being signed and numbered by myself. It is recommended that the limited-edition prints be framed for protection and wall display.

Does encaustic work need particular care?

Encaustic works of art should be treated as you would any piece of fine art, such as using care in hanging, transporting, or storing the work. It is recommended to avoid exposing the work to extreme temperature conditions, such as hot or cold, and not to hang it in direct sunlight.

Are the encaustic pieces original works of art?

Yes! My encaustic mixed media paintings are original, "one and done." Some pieces have limited-edition prints made from the original paintings. This makes the encaustic image an original hand-painted work of art that cannot be duplicated.

Are these pieces of fine art archival? How long will they last?

Each encaustic work is hand-brushed and painted with layers of encaustic wax and embedded oil pigments fused in a beeswax and damar resin mix. This process creates not only an original encaustic mixed media work but also one that is extremely archival, as long as the work is cared for with the same respect as any piece of fine art.

All my limited-edition digital painting prints are professionally printed giclée prints using archival ink on archival paper.

How long should I expect it to take for my art to arrive?

Original work can be hand-delivered if you live within a 40-mile radius of my studio. The original work is packed within 48 hours of payment, with delivery determined according to your schedule and mine.

If you're outside of the 40-mile radius, original encaustic mixed media works, assemblages, and artist's books ship within 48 hours of payment being received. All works are shipped with priority. I notify clients by email when the work is in the shipper's hands, along with the tracking number. One can plan on delivery in approximately a week from the time payment is made until the work is received. Weekends and holidays can affect delivery times.

Limited-edition prints have approximately a 2-week turnaround due to the printing, signing, numbering, and shipping.

I pack up all works of art and ship them as quickly as possible on my end; however, shipping delays created by holidays or other unforeseen events are out of my control. I do, however, keep in close contact with you during the shipping process so you know what to expect and when to expect it.

What is your return policy?

What is a Limited-edition print?

My Limited-edition prints are small-batch collections created from the painting. Each Limited-edition print is created using the finest giclée printing available. This means that they are printed using pigment-based inks with high resolution, sharp detail, and color.  Each small-batch collection is an edition of no more than 50 and is signed and numbered by me. Limited-edition prints are available in the collections of All Creatures - Great and Small, Botanical and Still Lifes, Nowhere Series, and the Travel Journal Series.

My Limited-edition prints are giclées printed using archival pigment inks, all known for their superior durability in the printing world. There is an approximate 2-week turnaround from the time of order to delivery of the Limited-edition prints due to the printing, signing, numbering, and shipping.

Are the Limited-edition prints concerning for the environment?

In a word, No! The earth is very important to me, as all of my work is inspired by nature, so I am very careful with the choices I make and who I choose to print my work.

My printer is a small family-run business that takes pride in its responsible practices by using the highest quality papers and ink but not at the expense of the environment. From solar panels powering their facility to the raw materials used to produce the prints, they can be relied upon to continually do their part to help sustain the earth. They recycle more than 150 tons of paper and packaging materials a year and their own packing boxes are made under the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI)

I do my part with the choice of paper I make to have my Limited-edition prints printed on. My choice of paper is Torchon a 100% cotton fine art cellulose watercolor paper with a distinct textured surface produced by Hahnemühle, a German paper manufacturing company founded in 1584. I ship using sustainable practices and use recycled boxes and packing materials as much as possible along with utilizing a studio recycling program.
