Jack in the Frame II’s inspiration comes from the striped, purple, maroon, and green colored Jack in the Pulpit plant I found growing below my studio. The unique appearing plant is easily recognized by its “Jack” standing erect in his pulpit. The corm is edible when boiled and the plant is sometimes called Indian Turnip.
