Feathered Affection - an encaustic painting is a double-sided work of art having both a front and back. The front features a blue bird sitting on a branch of a mountain Rhododendrum in bloom. The back of the work is an abstract work created with the blue colors of the bird used in the front painting that is finished off with a technique known as a shellac burn. Copper leafing is wrapped around the edges and seen from both sides.

The piece is painted on a panel board and hangs by a hand-twisted copper wire. Feathered Affection is approximately 12 inches in diameter.

This unique selected work was created for the Haywood County Arts Council project known as Give a HeART. It is a fundraising event where 100% of all the profits go back to support the arts.
